Popular as a gentle facial cleansing exfoliator, Konjac sponges were invented by Japanese farmers and originally used to wash babies’ skin because the sponge is so gentle and natural. Made from the konjac root, a porous root vegetable grown in Asia, they are are more gentle than scrubs and ideal for daily exfoliating. You can use them on sensitive skin, rosacea, and dry flakes that are difficult to buff away without irritating skin.

To use, simply soak the sponge for about 10 to 20 minutes (if it’s your first time using it), allowing it to expand and soften. Give the sponge a squeeze to release excess water. gently massage your face in circular motions. once skin is cleansed, rinse out the sponge and hang it to air-dry over night. Throw in compost after after 4-6 weeks of use.
